I am a qualified Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist & Counsellor and fully insured. I run a home visiting therapy service.
I engage with my clients rather differently than that of traditional counselling and find that my clients can get more out of it because they are more invested in their therapy.
I believe this to be extremely helpful when I used to do therapy sessions with youngsters in Foster Care placements for West Sussex County Council Social Services.
One particular social services client of mine, used a play on words and called their sessions with me “Gerapy” which I took as a huge compliment.
I have a varied background and had many transitions in my life. From a life on the road driving trucks for many years, going through some personal life changing experiences and tragedies to working in Mental Health as an advocate, a Driving Instructor, a Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner.
Having lots of personal life experiences both positive and negative, I believe I have a good understanding of what life throws at us humans. Through my past work as a mental health advocate and also as a driving instructor I developed good people skills which have enabled me to build good rapport with my clients and pupils respectively, from teenagers learning to drive to people with mental health problems and the range of professionals along the way also.
My approach has always been down to earth and to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible, I am a good communicator, I’m non-judgemental, empathetic and wherever appropriate I inject an element of humour as I believe it to also be extremely therapeutic. Clients usually find me very easy to talk to and relax comfortably into the sessions quite quickly.
